Often we find educationally appropriate and useful videos at home on Youtube or another site that is blocked by the county's firewall. However, I found a site that will allow you to convert those videos into formats that you can use to show at school to your students. The site is http://www.zamzar.com/.
It has step-by-step instructions to converting the video. All you have to do is paste the URL of the video in the space specified for it and click on convert (You may have to email yourself the URL from home since schools will not let you get on Youtube which makes obtaining the URL difficult). Next, you convert the video to a format of your choice. After that, you provide your email address. Finally, click convert, and it will be emailed to you usually in about an hour or more (so don't wait until the last minute if you plan on showing this video for your lesson). Most importantly...IT IS FREE!
